Nurse Mastidia cares for moms and babies in the labor recovery rooms at DCMC. Some days as many as 35 mothers are being cared for in the recovery rooms and Nurse Mastidia and her co-workers keep careful watch over all of them.

Pediatric patients fill nearly 50% of all in-patient beds at DCMC. The most common illnesses requiring overnight care for kids are upper respiratory tract infections and gastroenteritis.
